Freshman WR Jarred Fayson took snaps at QB Wednesday.

> Meyer: “That’s a fast dude running quarterback for us. We’re doing it for both reasons, in case something happens (an injury). But also in case we want to change the game a little bit.”
> Meyer: “Speed kills and he’s a natural at it. . . . You start running the shovel and some of that stuff with him at quarterback, that’s an eye-opener. He’s a talented guy. He’s a natural. I was very pleased that he just went back there and took the snap and got going.”

Meanwhile, QB Chris Leak struggled during a passing drill.

> Meyer: “I didn’t think it looked very good. I think the defense had the upper hand, and we’ve got to get better. . . . My reaction was probably the same as everyone else watching it. It wasn’t very good.”
