Bryan Evans is next in-line of great corners from Ed White High School in Jacksonville. Two of those great corners now suit up for Florida, Dee Webb and Dewayne Grace. Evans, like the other two, has great speed and has such natural talent opn the football feild. This can be seen through his versatility on the feild. He plays running back, quarterback and wide reciever for the Commanders.
Evans recruitment is not going well for the Gators. Since the firing of his former High School coach Dan Disch from the Univeristy of Florida, Evans has little to nothing to say about the Gators. Disch coached defensive backs for the Gators and it really hit home with Evans. He currently lists UGA, UT, and LSU as his favorites, but that list is shakey at best. UGA has ran out of scholarships, LSU will likely be looking for a new coach soon, and Tennessee has never been successful at pulling talent out of Florida that the Gators highly sought after. Evans may be different though. He shows little interest in following the afformentioned two corners to Florida, eventhough he is good friends with the duo and was considered a "lock" to Florida before Zook was fired.
Adavantages for UF:
- Grace and Webb
- Close to home
- UF needs DB's
Disadvantages for UF:
- No visit date set
- May not want to follow Grace and Webb
- Firing of coach Disch
UPDATE:
Evans will most likely visit UF on 1/7. He says he will choose form UF, FSU, UT, LSU, UGA, and Alabama. He is staring to sound more and more favorable for the Gators.
UPDATE:
Evan's did not Officially Visit the Gators on 1/7. But, The CB from ED White HS did meet with Coach Urban Meyer. According to sources who work with Evans at UPS, Evans has been interested in the Gators for some time. On January 7th, Urban Meyer went down to where Bryan works and met with him for some time. Evans was said to be "very impressed".
UPDATE
Evans has committed to UGA.
