Commentary:
A 6'2 cornerback who is making the transition to WR this fall for Apopka.
Things in UF's favor:
- Like Quentin taylor, Eric's high school coach is an alumni of UF. Coach Ensor took over the Apopka program not to long ago. Taylor along with teammate Quentin Taylor will be the first two major D-I recruits under his tenure. While a coach doesn't necessarily help his alma matter (see Dan Disch), it usually doesn't hurt either.
- UF will be his best in state option
- Camped at the 6/12 RSC
- UF and Ohio State are top two (Rivals 6/21/2004)
- Grew up a gator fan (Rivals 6/21). However, I seems to remember a story a few months back that quoted him saying that he grew up a seminole. So, take it with a grain of salt. Could just be who is showing the most interest.
Things not in UF's favor:
- If Eric is set on playing WR in college, UF may not be the first choice. There are several players already ahead of him on the recruiting board. But, since he hasn't had significant time playing at WR, he can really help himself with a strong senior season.
- Cousin of Brandon Meriweather. But, Miami might be hard pressed to find him a spot.
I think that sledge is the real deal mark my words sledge is going to shock the nation once he sets foot onto college fields.
