Commentary:
- Big time player in big time games. If you have a chance, check out his video highlights. I usually am very wary of highlight reels because of usual inferior competition on them. But, when you see a guy with huge hype come up with a huge game in a state championship, that is special.
Things in UF's favor:
- When asked by Husker Illustrated what stood out about UF, Mincey simply said "atmosphere" (6/20/04)
- Distant cousin of Jeremy Mincey (Not necessarily a family influence, but more of a quick bond that was developed with a UF player. Break the ice, etc...)
- Closest to home of the schools in play. Folkston is outside Jacksonville.
- While his top schools seem to be constantly changing, UF is always in the top two.
- Still wide open, but if he had to name a leader in mid-June he said it would be UF (Rivals, 6/25/04)
Things not in UF's favor:
- The common wisdom says that Folkston boys go to UGA. Don't necessarily buy into that, but that is the common wisdom.
- His top school has shifted from Auburn to UGA to UF to Miami all in the last couple of months. Leads one to beleive that there is a lot of uncertainty with Mincey. Will have to wait an see how this one plays out. No real leaning.
