Kenny Phillips is easily the best safety in the nation. He is an exceptional athlete and has the physical maturity to step on the feild and play as a freshmen for the program of his choice. Standing at 6'2" and 200 pounds he has the ability to support the run and the speed, sub 4.4 in the 40m, to cover even the fastest wide receivers. He currently list Miami, Florida, FSU, and Tennessee as his favorites with North Carolina State in a distant fifth position.
He has visited NCSU (12-10) and said that he had a good time, but I did not a get the feel that his visit was exceptional. He has Miami scheduled for 1-21 and Tennessee for the weekend of 1-7. He originally had his UF visit scheduled for the weekend of 1-14, but the Army All-American Game is held that weekend and he is unsure of when or if he will be able to reschedule. Laslty, he will visit FSU on the weekend of 1-28. Hopefully coach Meyer will be able to swing his decision on rather to visit and replace either his FSU or UT visit with a trip to Gainesville. If so, Phillips will more than likely turn down his trip to Tenessee.

- Lack of a scheduled visit
- He is located deep in Miami Territory
