Reggie Nelson - One of the best players in the nation. When he comes on to the University of Florida, he will be an automatic impact player at S, or LB. This guy is a flat out Ball Hawk. He can fly all over the field. I think I read somewhere he blocked about 8 kicks this year for his JUCO Team. WOW! He is a must get for this class and I think we get him. He was a "Dot Lock" as a senior when he was being recruiting by the Noles. In an interview that Dot had with him after his visit to FSU, Reggie was quoted to saying that he has "High Interest" in FSU. I think that he was telling Dot what he wanted to hear. But again that is just my opinion. He will visit UF on the weekend of 12/18. That SHOULD seal the deal for Reggie's services to the University Of Florida.
Things Going For Us:
- Loves the University Of Florida.
- Can impact the team right when he arrives.
- Charlie Strong was kept by Urban Meyer.
Thing Not So Good For Us:
- Ron Zook Fired. Most will tell you that he was going to FSU when he was coming out of HS and he was "Zooked" into coming to UF. Is that still the case?
UPDATE
Rumor says that he is waiting on a test score to come in and then he will decide. If he doesn't get the required grade then he will take another semester until May at Coffeyville.
1/4 UPDATE
Reggie received word today on his Math Test. It was not the news he wanted, he did not make the required score. Reggie will take a Semester of School at Brevard Community College in Melbourne. Look for Reggie to be a Gator in June or July, depending on how he does at Brevard. Come on Reggie! You can do it!
1/14 UPDATE
Per another site, Reggie is going to retake the test from Coffeyville online. He will have ample time to study. Does not have to enroll in Brevard CC.
1/19 UPDATE
There's a quote on Swampie's Rumor Mill from Nelson's coach that he is "undecided" at this point. Odd.
7/14/05 UPDATE
Currently on campus @ UF. Redshirted a year so has 3 years of eligibility left.
Also has jet packs.
